Man Arrested After Two State Chase

(MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP) - A man was arrested Wednesday afternoon following a two state chase. Michigan State Police from the White Pigeon Post say the Middlebury Police pursued a vehicle into Mottville Township around 11:30 Wednesday morning. The suspect vehicle went off the road, drove through a field and into a wooded area near Thomas and Barker Roads. The driver fled the scene on foot, and White Pigeon K-9 officers Sergeant Bill Burgoyne and Nero were called in to help track him. Other police departments from St. Joseph County and Indiana were also called to help secure the area. After 45 minutes, officers arrested 43 year old Mark Allen Fair. He is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on an outstanding parole violation. Charges for fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest and drug offenses will be sought in Michigan, while charges for felony fleeing police will be sought against Fair in Indiana.
