(THREE RIVERS) – Another person has thrown their hat into the political ring in hopes of running for a state office.
Three Rivers native Bob Sills has announced his candidacy for the 59th District Michigan House of Representatives. Sills, a 1964 graduate of Three Rivers High School, obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and was trained in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Sills retired from GTE after over 28 years of employment. He is also the owner of Trends and Technology, Inc., a business solutions provider of Voice over IP telephone systems.
From 2011 to 2013, Sills worked for the office of State Senator Bruce Caswell. During his time with Caswell's office, Sills' spent an extensive amount of time covering meetings such as Community Mental Health, Commission on Aging, Human Services Commission and Economic Development Corporation.
In addition to being involved with several civic and community groups, Sills has also served as the Chairman of the St. Joseph County Republican Party.
Other Republicans seeking the Party's nomination in the August Primary include John Bippus, Aaron Miller, and Roger Rathburn. Seeking the Democratic Party nomination is Mike Moroz.
