(ALBION) - A $200 check was recently presented to the Albion Fire Department from the sales of a history book about the department. "Smoky Days And Sleepless Nights: A Century Or So With The Albion Fire Department" was written by Mark Hunter and it first came out during the department's 125th Anniversary celebration last July. Hunter writes about the fire disasters that struck Albion’s early history, efforts to form a fire department and its first century of operation. The book was designed and edited by Hunter's wife Emily. It sells for $9.95 and is available as a e-book, in print at www.markrhunter.com or directly from Amazon.com. It can also be purchased at the Albion New Era newspaper office, the Brick Ark Inn and at the Albion Fire Station.
