LAGRAGE - The LaGrange County Council on Aging is moving again, but this time it will be into a building they own.
Executive Director Cheri Perkins announced at the organization’s monthly luncheon that they are buying the Moose Lodge building on U-S 20. The switch from the Council’s current location on Fenn Street will give it more room to work and provide additional programs.
Perkins said they plan to move by July 1st and will continue to operate from Fenn Street until then.
The Council on Aging was founded in 1975 but this will be the first building that the agency has owned. Perkins says they’ll need volunteers to clean the new building and assist with the move.
Next year they will seek a grant for renovations and possible construction of a garage to house the LaGrange County Area Transit vehicles. They are also planning fund raisers to come up with a local match for the grant.
