SHIPSHEWANA - Kites take to the skies in Shipshewana once again as the annual Kite Komotion Clinic and Festival begins this morning at 11.
Professional kite flying teams will be on hand to perform in the field behind the Shipshewana Event Center and Hudson Auto Museum. Among them is Kathy Brinnehl of the Chicago pairs team “Fire and Ice”.
"We kinda feel like Blue Angels on strings. We're going to be doing loops and turns, straight lines and squares and circles and all kinds of stuff to interpret the music we'll be flying to."
There’s also a field dedicated for families to fly kites and an opportunity for kids to build their own free kite. There will also be candy drops at 12:30 and 2 p-m. The activities run until 3 p-m.
Admission and activities are free. The event is presented by LaGrange Communities Youth Centers with sponsorship from Head Over Heels.
