(UNDATED) - With farm planting season underway, the Indiana State Police is reminding drivers in rural areas to watch out for slow moving farm machines. You should be prepared to slow down or stop to avoid a collision when a farm machine turns into a field or driveway. Remember, large farm machines travel often at speeds of less than 25 miles an hour. Those machines are required to display a slow moving vehicle emblem on the back of the equipment. Slow moving vehicles are also required to pull off to the right when three or more vehicles are blocked and cannot pass on the left. Use caution before you pass farm machinery on the left and look to see if there is enough distance to make the pass safely.
