(ANGOLA) - Three priests who attended seminary together were honored on Sunday for their 50 years of service. A large reception was held for Fathers Fred Pasche, Bernie Zajdel and Joe Kiene at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Father Pasche has been the pastor of St. Anthony's since 1997. Father Zajdel was the church pastor from 1979 until 1988. He returned as an associate pastor in 2010. Father Kiene recently retired as the Chaplain for the Indianapolis Police Department and will soon begin service at St. Anthony's. The reception was held in St. Anthony's former church. It was packed with friends, well-wishers and relatives of the three priests. Extra chairs had to be brought in to accommodate the large crowd who were treated to entertainment from two musical groups and St. Anthony choir members. There was also a slide show that was produced by Michelle Thomas. Father Pasche said during his homily that the past 50 years has been delightful and while they may not go for another 50 years, he said they will go for as many as God wants them to have.
