GOSHEN - A Goshen man was hospitalized after a semi trailer sideswiped his all terrain vehicle Friday night.
36-year-old Marty Clawson told police he was on foot pushing the ATV at the intersection of Main and Lafayette.
A semi was southbound on Main Street very close to the edge of the street. Clawson tried to pull the ATV out of the semi’s path but the rear section of the trailer struck the ATV and threw Clawson against the trailer. The semi did not stop.
A passerby found Clawson lying in the road and called 9-1-1. He was treated at I-U Health Goshen Hospital for nine fractured vertebrae.
Police are looking for a Peterbuilt with a sleeper cab. They say the driver might be unaware of the accident and is not a suspect in any crime.
Anyone with information about the accident should call Goshen Police or Indiana Conservation police.
