CENTREVILLE - The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department investigated a pair of accidents involving injuries Tuesday morning.
The first happened around 4 a-m at U-S 131 and U-S 12. Vehicles driven by 50-year-old Thomas Laphan of White Pigeon and 25-year-old Kevin Groff of Burr Oak collided in the intersection.
The sheriff’s department news release does not say which driver was injured.
Then at 6:47 a-m deputies responded to Nottowa Road near Wasepi Road for a one car crash.
They say 68-year-old Nancy Lee Gage of Mendon was southbound on Nottawa and attempted to avoid some deer. Her vehicle left the road and went into a ditch.
She was transported to Sturgis Hospital for injuries described as minor.
Deputies cited Gage for a speed violation and no proof of insurance.
