Sturgis Commission to consider no-parking requests tonight
Wednesday May 14, 2014 9:06am
STURGIS - The Sturgis City Commission will consider eliminating on-street parking in three areas of Sturgis when it meets this evening.
The areas include South Lakeview Avenue between Myrtle Street and Merribe Street; North Franks Avenue between Chicago Road and Oswald Drive (Thurston Woods); and West South Street between South Centerville Road and the railroad tracks.
If approved, the traffic control orders would indicate "No Parking" in those areas.
The West South Street Order was requested by local businesses, while the South Lakeview and North Franks Orders would allow for new striping on the roads consistent with the City's Non-Motorized Trail Plan.
The Sturgis City Commission meets in the Wiesloch Raum of Sturgis City Hall at 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
