INDIANAPOLIS - LaGrange and Steuben Counties will each get two grants from the state’s Lake and River Enhancement fund.
LaGrange County is getting $69,000 for sediment removal at Pretty Lake and $17,600 for logjam removal on the Pigeon River.
Steuben County is receiving $74,800 for sediment removal at Snow Lake and $7,500 for sediment removal at Clear and Round Lakes.
LARE grants are funded through an annual fee paid by boat owners to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. These grants allow for the completion of projects that would be difficult for local organizations to fund on their own.
