(BRUSHY PRAIRIE) - The Prairie Heights School Board on Monday night approved a roofing bid from Fort Wayne Roofing and Sheet Metal as part of the renovations and improvements that will be going on at Prairie Heights High School. Superintendent Alan Middleton said back in February that the work will not be an additional burden on taxpayers. Instead, the district is using a drop off from debt service to pay for the replacement and updating of the heating and cooling units in order to improve the air quality and to make repairs to the buildings roof. The base bid was $925,000 plus alternatives if the funding allows.
The board also awarded an H.V.A.C. bid to Current Mechanical which totaled over $294,000. In other business, the board scheduled a Public Hearing regarding the proposed contract between the district and incoming Superintendent Jeff Reed for June 2nd at 7:00pm. Reed also announced on Monday night that there will be no increase next year in lunch prices.
