(LAKE SYRACUSE) - Indiana Conservation Officers arrested a Syracuse man on Memorial Day on a preliminary charge of boating while intoxicated after they say he sunk his own boat at the public access site on Lake Syracuse. The D.N.R. said in a news release that 33-year-old Johnathan Heckaman was trying to put his boat on a trailer while he was allegedly intoxicated. The left side of the boat wound up on its side in shallow water and became submerged at a dock. Conservation Officers were assisted by Syracuse Police.
