(CENTREVILLE) – It's going to be a great weekend to be on the water.
And for some individuals, it's going to be a time to clean up a section of a St. Joseph County river.
The St. Joseph County Conservation District is doing the first of five planned river clean up efforts on Saturday. Volunteers will start at 9 AM and work on a four mile stretch of the Fawn River from Fawn River Road to Dickinson Road in White Pigeon Township.
If you would like to volunteer, you can meet at the end point of Dickinson Road and transportation will be provided to the starting point.
Additional river clean up dates are set for June 21, July 19, August 9 and September 6.
Organizers say 2014 marks the fourth consecutive year of what is expected to be a six year effort to clean all 150 miles of rivers in St. Joseph County.
