(UNDATED) - The National Weather Service says average temperatures and precipitation were slightly above normal during May. The severe weather season continued to be mostly quiet although there were isolated strong to severe thunderstorms. An isolated thunderstorm downburst over the Fort Wayne Airport produced a measured 63 mile per hour wind gust on the evening of the 27th. Fort Wayne's average temperature in May was 61.5 degrees which is 1.1 degrees above normal. Precipitation in Fort Wayne was slightly above normal at 4.57 inches. South Bend measured 5.1 inches of rain.
