(ANGOLA) - Mike Hess said on Monday he will be stepping down as Steuben County Prosecutor on July 31st as he will be starting as a full time professor at Trine University in August. State law prevents him from holding two jobs at once. Hess will be teaching at Trine's School of Criminal Justice. Chief Prosecutor Jeremy Musser will take over as Steuben County Prosecutor when Hess leaves. The Steuben County Republican Party will have to hold a caucus to select someone who will fill out the balance of Hess' term which ends at the end of the year. Musser won the Republican Primary for the Prosecutors Office last month. He is facing no Democratic opposition on the November general election ballot.
