(LAGRANGE) - The LaGrange County Sheriffs Department is using social media to warn people about a possible scam. The department says on its Facebook page that a woman reported Tuesday evening she got a phone call from (202) 470-3524 and was told to go to a Wal-Mart, Walgreen’s or CVS store where she would be given $9,000 for prescriptions. She was told that she would need to pay a $310 fee that would be reimbursed.
The woman was then asked to call the phone number back once she got to CVS for further instructions. Police contacted CVS and made them aware of the scam going around.
Once again, police remind you to not give out any personal information and if the deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
