(WHITE PIGEON TOWNSHIP) – Police and U.S. Postal workers prevented $100,000 worth of meth from getting put out on the streets.
The St. Joseph County Area Narcotics Unit learned on Wednesday from the U.S. Postal Service that an out of state package was going to be delivered to a home in the 29000 block of Edgewater Beach Road, located in White Pigeon Township.
Two men tried to pick up that package around 11:30 Wednesday morning, and officers tried to stop them. The suspects got into a vehicle and attempted to get away, but police blocked the street.
As the suspects tried to drive in another direction, they collided with another police vehicle.
The driver of the suspect vehicle was taken to Three Rivers Health for treatment of minor injuries received in the collision. The other suspect was arrested at the scene.
The two men will face charges of felonious assault and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
