(ANGOLA) - Steuben County Commissioners and the Board of Aviation tried to clear the air on several issues Monday morning. Commission Chair Ron Smith said at the start of the discussion he wanted a new era of working together. Among the issues discussed were utility payments, fuel availability and the hanger-terminal building being available for pilots after hours. Smith said the Commissioners were not a sounding board for individuals who are not happy with airport operations and that complaints should be handled by the Aviation Board. Commissioner Jim Crowl wants to see change at the airport to help promote it. He felt the Commissioners have heard nothing but complaints from the pilots ever since the hanger and terminal buildings was constructed. Aviation Board member Walt Drewes objected to Crowl's comments. He pointed out the number of improvements that have taken place over the last few years. Aviation Board Chair Doctor Wyatt Weaver said it was only 16 percent of the pilots who have been complaining.
