(ANGOLA) - Steuben County Commissioners told County I.T. Director Tami Sumney to pursue a Memo of Understanding with the city of Angola on Monday to merge Spillman Technologies data management systems. According to the web site for the Utah-based company, Spillman provides public safety software for police departments, sheriff's offices, communications centers, fire departments and correctional facilities nationwide. Steuben County Sheriff Tim Troyer says Spillman runs their Jail Management System. He says the city of Angola runs the same data base and that the merger has been discussed for some time. Sumney said the benefits of a merger would include allowing the city and the county to share future costs on such items as hardware and hardware maintenance.
