Pursuit from Chain-o-Lakes SP ends in downtown Ft. Wayne

ALBION - A Fort Wayne man faces numerous charges after leading police on a chase from Chain-O-Lakes State Park to downtown Fort Wayne.
Police were called at 12:42 a-m when Charlie Marcum II allegedly caused a disturbance by driving around the park while intoxicated.
As he approached the park gate police ordered him to stop and get out of the vehicle, but he accelerated and left the park, turning south on State Road 9. The pursuit continued down U-S 33 where a Churubusco police officer set down stop sticks that punctured one of Marcum’s front tires.
The pursuit continued into Fort Wayne all the way to St. Mary’s Avenue before reaching a dead end. That’s where Marcum fled the vehicle and ran but was tased by officers and subdued.
He was returned to Noble County where he attempted to escape from Parkview Noble Hospital but was subdued by Kendallville Police.
Marcum was lodged in the Noble County on numerous counts that include battery to a police officer resulting in injury.
