Centreville, MI

(CENTREVILLE) – There's going to be a lot of extra activity in Centreville over the next couple of days.

The Annual Centreville Covered Bridge Days Festival is underway in the downtown area.

The Langley Covered Bridge was built in 1887 by Parkville resident Pierce Bodner. The structure is 282 feet long and was built in three 94 foot sections and crosses the St. Joseph River three miles north of Centreville. It is the longest covered bridge in Michigan and among the longest in the United States.

Friday's activities include the rummage sale at St. Paul's Lutheran Church starting at 8 AM. From 12 PM to 8 PM there will be food and craft vendors on the Courthouse lawn. Magician Gordon Russ will perform two shows at 4:30 and 6 PM and then there's the fireworks at 10 PM at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds, followed by the Salute Our Troops sky lanterns being released in unison at 10:45 PM.
