Glen Oaks-Trine Announce Partnership
Friday Jun 20, 2014 10:49am

(CENTREVILLE) – Two area schools are partnering to offer advanced degrees.

Glen Oaks Community College is partnering with Trine University to create a pathway from an associate degree to a bachelor or master degree. The schools have also agreed to jointly develop programs to be offered on the Glen Oaks campus in Centreville.

The 2+2 Pathawy allows students to take their first two years at Glen Oaks and their second two years at Trine. The route students take to a bachelor's degree from Trine would depend largely on the academic program in which they are interested. Trine grants bachelor and master degrees in more than 35 areas of study.

Trine is also implementing a scholarship incentive for Glen Oaks graduates maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average.

Glen Oaks President Dr. David Devier says this new partnership with Trine offers students new pathways to achieve their goals. Devier says students will have greater access to classes towards their bachelor degrees with the convenience of academic program offerings at the Glen Oaks campus.

A press conference is scheduled for next Thursday, June 26 at Glen Oaks Community College.
