(BETHEL TOWNSHIP) - The Branch County Sheriffs Department says air bags and seat belts saved lives and minimized injuries in a three car crash Monday afternoon on U.S. 12 at Wildlife Road. The Sheriffs Department says the accident happened at about 3:15pm when 29-year-old Tristan Ferry of Coldwater was trying to turn left. He was then struck from behind by another eastbound vehicle driven by 19-year-old Isaih Osborne. The impact knocked the Ferry car into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by 20-year-old Mohamed Alslehay of Coldwater. The head on impact was so great that both the Ferry and Alslehay vehicles ended up on opposite sides of the road. Osborne was cited for speed by the Sheriffs Department. They add that car distractions were another factor in the accident. Ferry, Alslehay and passenger in the Alslehay vehicle were all taken to the Community Health Center of Branch County where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
