INDOT awards 2018 highway funds for area projects

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Transportation awarded 2018 federal funding for road projects in Noble, Steuben and DeKalb Counties today.
Approximately $2.1 million will go towards the West Main Street Project in Albion. Another $1.6 million will go to Noble County for bridge number 147 at Pigeon Street over the Elkhart River.
Steuben County will get $2.8 million for a section of County Road 200 North from the Angola city limits to 500 feet east of State Road 827.
The City of Garrett is getting $688-thousand for a Safe Routes to School project.
Communities must provide 20-percent on local matching funds to receive the federal dollars.
The projects would be bid sometime during the state's fiscal year that begins in July of 2017.
