(AUBURN) - Two men were arrested on Thursday afternoon following a police pursuit which started in Auburn and ended in New Haven. The DeKalb County Sheriffs Department says they were dispatched at about 2:10pm when someone called in a drunk driving complaint on County Road 35. The person who made the complaint followed the suspect vehicle to County Road 31 at Auburn Drive. Deputies found the vehicle there but the suspect driver fled.
The pursuit went from Auburn through Spencerville and Harlan before the vehicle went out of control and went off of Ryan Road east of New Haven. Two men ran from the vehicle and went into a wooded area. A police perimeter was then set up and the suspects were eventually found with the help of police K-9 units.
The driver was identified as Tyler R. Morris of Ossian. Police say they found a handgun in the vehicle which was determined to be stolen out of Allen County. Morris is facing six charges including resisting law enforcement with the use of a vehicle and receiving stolen property.
The passenger, Lewis F. Park of Fort Wayne, was booked at the DeKalb County Jail for Failure to Appear on a prior charge.
