(FORT WAYNE) - A Fremont man was sentenced this week in U.S. Federal Court in Fort Wayne following an investigation which involved numerous agencies including the Steuben County Sheriffs Department. 26-year-old Pedro Salud Rubio-Garcia was sentenced to 78 months imprisonment and 4 years supervised release after pleading guilty to the felony offenses of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance and selling a firearm to a convicted felon. The U.S. Attorney's Office states in a press release that according to documents filed in this case, Rubio-Garcia was involved in the distribution of cocaine, methamphetamine and the trafficking of firearms. This case was the result of an investigation by the F.B.I.'s Fort Wayne Safe Streets Task Force and the A.T.F.. New Haven and South Bend Police along with the Elkhart County Interdiction and Covert Enforcement Unit and the IMAGE Drug Task Force also assisted with the investigation.
