(STURGIS) – Due to the storms that rolled through the area Monday night and early Tuesday morning, the City of Sturgis will have a special brush pick up.
The City's Department of Public Services will start picking up brush on Monday July 7. Crews will follow the normal brush pick up route, beginning on the north side of Sturgis and working their way to the south.
Rules for the pick up will be the same as other times. There will be a limit of one truck load of material per parcel collected and hauled away. Limbs, branches or brush material must not be larger than four inches in diameter or longer than eight feet in length.
No grass clippings, roots, thorn bearing branches, tree trucks, stumps or construction material will be collected.
Materials must be neatly stacked on the terrace away from objects or obstructions such as power poles, guy wires or sign posts.
A reminder that the Compost Site is open for the season. Their hours are Monday and Thursday from 12 to 7 PM; Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM and on Sunday from 1 to 5 PM.
