LAGRANGE - A high speed chase crossed the state line three times before a White Pigeon man surrendered to police Monday evening.
A LaGrange County deputy made a traffic stop on a car driven by 40-year-old Joseph Chandler. But as the deputy approached Chandler’s car it sped away, starting a chase that exceeded 100 miles per hour as it entered St. Joseph County, returned to LaGrange County, and then back again to St. Joseph County.
It ended when Chandler pulled into the White Pigeon Church of Christ parking lot and surrendered to Michigan State Police, who say Chandler told them he fled because his license was suspended. He is also wanted on a warrant from Branch County.
Chandler is expected to face numerous charges in both counties.
White Pigeon and Shipshewana Police also assisted in the chase.
