(LAGRANGE) - A traffic violation led to a drug bust in LaGrange County on Monday night. The LaGrange County Sheriffs Department said on their Facebook page that a deputy made a traffic stop at about 11:00pm in the area of County Roads 700 South and 400 East on a car driven by 24-year-old Michael J. Neuenschwander of Wolcottville.
It was discovered during the stop that Neuenschwander had a suspended driver’s license so a wrecker was called to impound the vehicle.
During an inventory of the vehicle, police say several drug related items were found including about 66 grams of Marijuana, digital scales, a glass pipe smoking device, a large number of plastic bags and nine Hydrocodone prescription pills that officials say Neuenschwander did not have a prescription for.
He was taken to the LaGrange County Jail and was charged with felony counts of Dealing Marijuana over 30 grams and Maintaining a Common Nuisance. He was also booked on Class A misdemeanors for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Neuenschwander was also issued a citation for Driving While Suspended.
