LAGRANGE - LaGrange County Commissioners approved a rezoning request Monday to allow a manufacturer of propane refrigeration equipment to move to the site of Riegsecker Woodworking.
EZ Freeze has outgrown its current location on U-S 20 west of Shipshewana. It wants to purchase nearly 21 acres along State Road 5 just south of State Road 120.
Zoning Administrator Bob Shanahan told the commissioners that changing the zoning from Business 3 to Industrial 2 would actually bring the property into compliance.
The rezone gained a positive recommendation from the Plan Commission and commissioners approved it unanimously.
In other business the commissioners awarded the purchase of road salt to Detroit Salt Company. They also awarded a contract to mail form 11's for the assessor’s office to Master Touch at an estimated cost of $9,946.
