(ANGOLA) - The Steuben County Council heard a $700,000 funding request for a new arena at the 4-H Fairgrounds on Tuesday. County Commission Chair Ron Smith said it would an unheated enclosed building that would be four times the size of Rensch Hall which would eventually be replaced. Smith said they were in the process of putting final numbers together and they hoped to have the information for the Council next month. He added the $700,000 request was a guesstimate and it could come down in price depending on how bids come in. Smith and County Park Superintendent Eric Ditmars also made a presentation on the possibility of I-MAN providing the park with fiber for internet service at a cost to the county of $175,000. Locl-Net would provide the service as part of a five-year contract. Both requests would involve Major Moves funds. They were tabled by the Council for further study.
