(WATERLOO) - The DeKalb County Sheriffs Department reports a pair of four year old girls were found safe and sound in a cornfield east of Waterloo on Thursday afternoon. A dispatcher says the girls were reported missing at around 12:30pm. Sheriff Don Lauer says they were playing in a yard when they wandered into a nearby cornfield on the north side of U.S. 6. The Sheriffs Department posted on its Facebook page just after 2:00pm that they girls were located. They were checked out by paramedics after they were found. A posting that the girls were missing generated 257 shares on Facebook. Numerous police and fire agencies from DeKalb County were involved in the search for the girls.
