(CENTREVILLE) – A Constantine man accused of lying to investigators surrounding the 2007 murder of Jodi Parrack will have his case moved on to Circuit Court.

A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday afternoon for 46 year old Raymond McCann, who was arrested in April and charged with perjury in connection with the investigation into the November 2007 death of Parrack. The 11 year old's body was found in the Constantine Township Cemetery. The cause of death was asphyxia due to strangulation.

Assistant Prosecutor Erin Harrington says they are now seeking five different counts of perjury against McCann. She called four witnesses during the hearing, including Constantine Police Lieutenant Marc Donker and Jodi's mother Valerie Jo Gilson.

Both Donker and Gilson testified to several inconsistencies in statements made by McCann about he did on the night Jodi was murdered. McCann had told investigators that he had multiple face to face contacts with Donker that night, but Donker said there were only two face to face meetings. McCann also said he ran into Gilson several times and actually led her away from where Jodi's body was found, however Gilson says that was not correct.

Michigan State Police Detective Trooper Bryan Fuller has been assigned to the cold case team investigating Jodi's death. He testified that an investigative subpoena was issued in September 2012 because of McCann's inconsistencies.

Fuller says one of the inconsistencies is McCann told him that he and Donker searched an area called Tumble Dam. However, Fuller says videotape footage does not show either of the men there. ...... {LISTEN}.

District Court Judge Robert Pattison says the Prosecution met their burden of proof and bound the case over to Circuit Court. McCann remains in the St. Joseph County Jail on a $225,000 bond.
