(CENTREVILLE, MICHIGAN) - The St. Joseph County Circuit Court jury in the Andy Brown murder trial began deliberations on Thursday afternoon after a trial which lasted for over a week. Brown is charged in connection with the shooting death of his boss, Sturgis C.P.A. David Locey last October. No verdict was reached after five hours of deliberations. The jury is scheduled to resume deliberations on Friday morning.
During closing arguments on Thursday, Prosecutor John McDonough said the evidence points to Brown being the person who shot Locey.
Defense attorney Mike Hills said others who had problems with Locey could have murdered him.
Judge Paul Stutesman told the jury before they started deliberations that they could find Brown guilty of first or second degree murder.
