LAGRANGE – The man charged with finding buyers for development at Fawn River Crossing wants to dress up the property a bit so it shows better.
LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Keith Gillenwater this morning asked the Redevelopment Commission how far they are willing to go to make the industrial park look better to prospective companies. He said making it look more like an industrial site rather than a farm field would help efforts to sell the land.
Gillenwater proposed steps that would result in retention ponds and earthwork that would leave a bare pad for a prospective building. The list of items would cost an estimated $600,000
R-D-C members seemed supportive, but also hesitant after the recent attempt to develop a shell building was dropped by County Council. They asked Gillenwater to fine tune his proposal and bring it back for consideration next month.
