(PARK TOWNSHIP) – A White Pigeon man was taken to the hospital following a two vehicle crash Thursday afternoon.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department says 43 year old Joey Salazar of White Pigeon was driving south on U.S. 131 near M-216 just before 6 PM Thursday and was struck by 32 year old Rebecca Crose of Three Rivers who was trying to cross the southbound lanes. Salazar told deputies he tried to avoid Crose's car but was not able to do so.
Crose was not injured in the crash, but Salazar was taken to Three Rivers Health for treatment of non life threatening injuries.
Crose was ticketed for failure to yield. Assisting deputies at the scene were the Fabius-Park Township Fire Department and the Three Rivers Ambulance.
