Health care jobs growing fast in NE Indiana

FORT WAYNE – If you're looking for a career field with growth potential, health care is the ticket.
Northeast Indiana Works issued a forecast predicting double digit growth across the health care field throughout the region.
Nursing, psychiatric, and home health care are the largest employment areas and are expected to grow substantially over the next decade.
The fastest growing occupations by percentage are physical therapist assistants, optometrists, and occupational therapy assistants.
The fastest growing industry within the segment is home health care, where employment is projected to rise by 87 percent in the decade.
The average wage for health care jobs is $39,800 per year and is higher than the average wage for all Northeast Indiana occupations.
