(CENTREVILLE) – A former employee of the Three Rivers Chamber of Commerce is charged with felony embezzlement from the organization.
St. Joseph County District Court officials say 57 year old Deborah Herring has been arraigned on a charge of embezzlement over $20,000 and less than $50,000. If she is found guilty, Herring could face up to 10 years in prison.
Herring was the administrative assistant for the Three Rivers Chamber and is accused of taking the money between 2007 and 2013. She was fired in March after Three Rivers Police started their investigation into allegations of embezzlement.
Herring will have a preliminary hearing in District Court next week.
