(ANGOLA) - The pastor of St. Anthony's Catholic Church for the past 17 years will be leaving Angola next month. Father Fred Pasche announced during all of the masses this weekend that he will become an Associate Pastor at St. Joseph University Parrish in Terre Haute.
His new assignment came following a meeting of the Province Chapter of the Franciscan Order last week in New Mexico. The purpose of the meetings is to decide matters for the next four years. "Father Fred", as he is known as, has been the pastor at St. Anthony's since 1997. During that time, a new church was constructed to replace a temporary building which had been holding services since the late 1950's.
The new pastor for St. Anthony's will be appointed by Bishop Kevin Rhoades.
Father Pasche along with Fathers, Bernie Zajdel and Joe Kiene were honored in May for their 50 years of being in the priesthood.
