(LAKE JAMES) - Pokagon State Park will host the annual Sand Sculpturing Demonstration and Contest this weekend.
A group of families known as the Michigan Sand Sculptors vacations at Pokagon every summer. Weather permitting, they will be creating their sand art in a roped off area at the park's main beach on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Others are invited to create their own sand art elsewhere on the beach. A contest for all participants will be held Sunday starting at 1:00pm.
Entry to the beach is free but park visitors will have to pay the normal park entrance fee on weekends of $5 for in-state vehicles or $7 for out-of-state vehicles. You can also use your annual entrance pass. Both are available at the park front gate.
For further information, call the park at (260) 833-2012.
