(COLON) – A Coldwater man who walked away from the Calhoun County Jail was arrested in Colon Thursday evening.
According to the Battle Creek Enquirer, 40 year old Brad Wolfinger was working in the garage of the Calhoun County Jail washing and maintaining cars when he changed clothes, took a bicycle and rode away around 2 PM.
Wolfinger was serving a sentence for larceny and was scheduled to be released in early December. He had been working in the garage at the jail since March.
Calhoun County authorities contacted the Branch County Sheriff's Department to let them know of Wolfinger's escape. It seems Wolfinger called his wife, who contacted police. Authorities say he was served with divorce papers on Wednesday.
Wolfinger was picked up around 6:30 PM at his father's home in Colon.
He has been taken back to the Calhoun County Jail where is facing additional charges of escape and larceny. Police are investigating to see if anyone helped him escape from the jail.
