(FABIUS TOWNSHIP) – Two people were injured when a car collided with a semi Friday morning.
Michigan State Police from the White Pigeon Detachment were called to a personal injury crash at 8:50 AM Friday on M-60 near Roberts Road in Fabius Township.
Witnesses told troopers the driver of the passenger car, 72 year old Ronald Heath of Kalamazoo crossed the centerline and collided with a semi. The driver of the semi, 40 year old Richard Trethwey, attempted to avoid the collision, but was unsuccessful.
Heath was taken to Three Rivers Health, and then flown by West Michigan Air Care to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. His condition is unknown at the time. Trethway was treated at the scene and released.
Troopers do not believe speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene were the Fabius-Park Fire Department and the Three Rivers Ambulance.
