(JIMMERSON LAKE) - Two Fort Wayne men were injured Sunday morning when the Steuben County Sheriff's Department says the driver failed to negotiate a curve on Nevada Mills Road and crashed into some trees. The accident happened at Jimmerson Lake Lane 350 at about 3:10am. The Sheriffs Department stated in a news release that deputies found 47-year-old Steve Johnston and 28-year-old Jeremy Asselin standing outside the vehicle with visible head and face injuries. Both said an unknown driver ran from the accident scene but no one was found following a K-9 search. The Sheriff's Department says evidence at the scene indicated Johnston was the driver. He was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center with a head injury. Asselin refused medical treatment and was placed in custody on an unrelated charge.
