(ANGOLA) - A Fort Wayne woman who was arrested over two years ago in an I.M.A.G.E. Drug Task undercover investigation tried to show Circuit Court Judge Allen Wheat on Monday that she was in the process of turning her life around. 44-year-old Cindy Lynn Mercer was given a ten year sentence after she entered a guilty plea to a felony charge of Dealing Methamphetamine. Four years of the sentence was suspended and Mercer was given credit for 18 months already served. The rest of her executed time will be spent in Community Corrections and she will have to spend four years on probation in connection with a LaGrange County case.
Mercer has been a resident of the Hope House in Fort Wayne and several residents showed up in court to support her on Monday.
She was charged by Steuben County Prosecutors in connection with a drug transaction involving a confidential informant for I.M.A.G.E. in January of 2012 that according to court documents took place within 1,000 feet of Carpenter's Park in Ashley.
