(NOTTAWA TOWNSHIP) – Authorities say two Sturgis men were injured when the vehicle they were in struck a tree.
According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department, Charles Smith of Sturgis was eastbound in the 25000 block of M-86 in Nottawa Township around 9:30 Monday morning when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree.
Smith and his passenger, Michael Wolfinger of Sturgis, received injuries and were taken to a Kalamazoo area hospital.
The Centreville Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation. The Sheriff's Department is asking anyone who may have seen the crash to call them at 467-9045 or St. Joseph County Central Dispatch at 467-4195.
