Sturgis boys relay team breaks school record
(GRAND RAPIDS) – A Sturgis boys relay team set a new school record and another runner earned All State honors at the Division 2 State Finals. Daniel Steel was seventh in the 800 meters and also earned All State and Academic All State honors. The 400 meter relay team of Justin Bowdish, Jonathon Sholl, Matt Phillips and Max Maher were 15th at the state finals with a time of 44.41 seconds, which is a new school record.
Coldwater's Targgart state champ in discus
(COLDWATER) – Coldwater's Logan Targgart won the state championship in the discus at the Division 2 State Finals. Targgart's throw was 168 feet, seven inches. Targgart was second in the shot put with a toss of 54 feet, 5 inches.
Three Rivers 1600 meter relay finishes in top 10
(GRAND RAPIDS) – The Three Rivers 1600 meter relay team finished seventh at the Division 2 State Finals. The team of Nate Eldridge, Johnel Stewart, Colby Brundige and Zak Zagon finished in a time of 3:25.67. Eldridge was also third in the 400 meters and was named All State as was the relay team.
