Coldwater tops Sturgis in baseball District finals
(COLDWATER) – For the second straight year, the Coldwater baseball team won a Division 2 District title. The host Cardinals beat Sturgis 9-4 in the championship game, scoring six runs in the top of the seventh inning. Sturgis got to the title game with a 7-1 win over Vicksburg in the semi-finals. Chance Stewart had a grand slam in the win over Vicksburg. He also had a 2 run single in the finals. Sturgis ends their season with a record of 18-12-1. Coldwater is now 21-14 and advances to the Otsego Regional where they will face Niles.
