MAC, ESPN Agree To New 13 Year Deal
Tuesday Aug 19, 2014 12:00am

(UNDATED) - The Mid-American Conference and ESPN have agreed to a new 13 year media rights deal through 2026-27, according to an industry source. The new deal between the MAC and ESPN rewrites the current eight-year deal, which was set to expire in 2017. A source said the new deal is worth more than the old deal, which paid the MAC about a $1 million a year. The new deal will keep ESPN as the exclusive carrier for all TV and distribution rights for football and men's basketball, as well as select women's basketball and Olympic sports events. The new deal will include multiple mid-week football appearances in November by the MAC schools.
